About Us
HERE AT WOODARD LIMOUSIN, our roots to the Limousin breed date back to the early 1970’s when Rodger’s parents purchased their first Limousin bull. Throughout the 1970’s and early 1980’s, the family actively raised, showed, and sold registered Limousin bulls. Pens and carloads of Limousin bulls were exhibited at the National Western Stock Show, and Limousin feeder steers were also exhibited at the American Royal and the National Western Stock Show.
As our daughter, Cassidy reached the age to start showing cattle, we embarked on developing our own herd of registered Limousin cattle. Throughout the years, we have aspired to develop a recognizable Limousin and Lim-Flex breeding program capable of producing high-level results both in the show ring and the pasture. Our breeding program does not focus on single trait selection or chase the latest fad. We concentrate on functional, moderate-framed cattle that will work in all segments of the cattle industry.
Check out our “Show Ring Success Page” for a glimpse at the quality genetics we’ve been producing.
Not only are we believers in the efficiencies of the Limousin breed, we are also advocates of the North American Junior Limousin Association (NALJA) program. Cassidy’s experiences growing up in the NAJLA program and serving on the junior board are some of our most treasured times. We continue to be supporters of NAJLA and the values, leadership, camaraderie, and life skills the program instills.
